My favorite holiday

This is my favorite time of year.  I love that the weather is getting colder and that the mornings are crisp.  I love that I can wear sweaters and pants and comfy warm shoes.  Mostly I love this time of year because I get to think about our Thanksgiving dinner which I insist on having at my house.  It is absolutely my favorite holiday to plan for, shop for and cook for.  I used to change it up every year and try a different recipe for the turkey but a few years ago I found one that is absolutely delicious and we have stuck with it ever since.  There's something about being in the kitchen all day cooking with your family that makes this holiday in particular better than the rest.

It took Dave at least 20 minutes to carve that one piece of turkey off the bird!

Amma slaving over the gravy.

This was before I made fun of him for how long it took him to carve a turkey.

My Thanksgiving table...Adults only.
The kids were relegated to the kitchen.

This is everyone after we finished eating.
Notice how no one has moved from the table.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Snow Angels...

This is what happens when you put three boys into one tub.  Poor Colin.  At least he's smiling.

What happened to my baby?

Every mother has this moment.  The "What happened to my baby?" moment.  Where suddenly the child who was so dependent on you for months and years just takes off across the street without looking for your hand to hold.  It is a bittersweet moment and it is one I am experiencing now.  My last baby is now a full-fledged little boy and he is my most stubborn and independent yet.  Here are a few pictures that remind me that I no longer have any babies in my house.
This is Keegan at Fall Festival at his school.  He is watching his "crush" Samantha rock climb.  Is he really old enough to have a crush?  Already?
This is Tate showing off his muscles on the beach this summer.  He no longer has the body of a little boy.  He's built like a brick house.
Colin in early October.  I feel like he was never a baby.  It seems like he went from newborn to little boy in an instant.  Now I know what my mom was always talking about.

Halloween 2010

Halloween weekend was a fun (albeit quick!) time for the whole Grau family.  Amma came over to carve pumpkins with the boys and Dave on Halloween and then helped get everyone ready for trick-or-treating.  I had to work this year but was able to skip out early to catch up with the boys on the trick-or-treat trail.  Keegan was Captain Rex from the Clone Wars, Tater was Darth Vader and Colin was a garden gnome.  Notice that we did not get a single picture of him with the whole costume on.  He did NOT want any part of the hat or the beard!

Blog Virgin

Hello to all our friends and family.  This is my first experience blogging and I feel very out of my element (hence the name of this post).  I figured this would be the easiest way to keep you all up to date on our lives as well as provide a journal of sorts for the boys when they are older.  This first picture is of the boys from this past summer.  It is one of my favorites and is my computer background at work.  They don't get much cuter than these three.  I know I'm biased but still...
